  1. I love this book its so good. The way that the author puts his words. My favorite part of the story is when Marcus is in tryouts, and he gets distracted by the cheerleader. He gets distracted by her because Marcus likes her. Its getting interesting because Marcus did not do good in tryouts and the coach gave him another chance and that is what I was wondering with my group: Why is the coach giving Marcus another chance? we will just have to wait and see. -Jonathan.D

  2. Jonathan,

Nice! I'm impressed with your comments about the book. Your group is really on point. What do you think about Marcus? Is he good? Does the cheerleader like him? Or is he creepy stalker guy? The question about the coach is insightful. What are your predictions as to why he is giving Marcus another chance?

    Blog soon,

  3. The book Iam reading is Pop, and its really good! My favorite part of the book is when Marcus was practicing at the park. And Marcus threw the ball and a man caught the ball and it was charlie. Marcus was so impressed by how a old man could be that athletic. This is my favorite part because it shows that you never know what other people are capable of. Either if its that your old, young, small,or large, it doesnt matter.-Alan.A

  4. Right now is really surprising. The book is surprising because right now Marcus is having bad days, because he did a horrible job on the try outs that he had.He was not focus because he was kind of paying attendtion to a cheerleader that he had a crush on.Another reason why he did't do a good job on the tryouts for the football team was because when some teamates heard him talking to the coach saying that he use to be a quarterback, the quarterback of the team started to bully him by saying that he was not better then him. The quarterback of the team felt a little uncomfortable because he does not want him to be the quarterback.Lastly,I wonder why the coach gave him another chance if did a horrible job on the tryouts. 5. Marcus is a interesting kid he really doesn't have any friends for now,he practices on his own and I was wondering how is that possible, dont you need someone to throw the ball at or something?Marcus is a really good football player he just cant let that cheerleader distract him like she does ,because if he does he might not make it to the football team. For now they havent said if the cheerleader likes him or not.? My prediction to why the coach is giving Marcus another chance is because I think that the coach believes that Marcus has potential. -Jonathan.D

    1. Jonathan~

Why do you think the coach has potential in Marcus? Do you think that Marcus is going to make it to the football team?

  6. The book sounds really interesting my thinking is that Marcus must be a really good football player if the coach s giving him another chance.I think Marcus might get a chance with the girl but when somthing goes wrong with the relationship it'll effect how he plays. :)

    1. Grant, why do you think if something goes wrong with the relationship and mess up his football playing skills?

    2. Geremy, I just thoght it could effect him because in movies the guy meets a girl, something goes wrong the guy is hurt emotionly and dosn't know how to contiue his life with out her. thats just my though, i dont really know if thats what'll happen

  7. Right now I am on chapter six,and there's so many things I want to talk about. First, I want to say that Charlie is a bad influence to Marcus because Charlie is teaching Marcus about revenge. Like when Charlie and Marcus put bugs in Kenneth Oliver's house for blaming Marcus about breaking Kenneth's window.I predict that Marcus is going to get caught and get in trouble.

  8. Well, Grant in the book they still haven't said if the cheerleader like Marcus or not,but i do know that Marcus just found out that charlie used to play for the NFL and he's shocked because he didn't know that a retired NFL football player was training him.A quote in the is "You have no clue who you"re dealing with! That's what gave an idea to marcus that charlie was a footbal player.

  9. What does the coach see in Marcus ? Why does he push him so hard. What type of kid is he? For example did he exceed in school. Is he easily tempured?

  10. Well you see Kassie, the coach sees potental in Marcus, and thinks he can be a real good football player and a good teamate. The coach pushes Marcus hard because he knows he can do better and he wants the best of him. No he is not easily tempured because he's uste to discpline.

  11. Why did Marcus try out for the football team in the first place? Did he do it just to watch the cheerleader he likes?

  12. My favorite part of chapter ten was when Marcus was training with Charlie and Marcus had injured his shoulder and it got dislocated. And now there argueing about how if they should go to the doctor or put his shoulder back to place himself! But now Charlie is getting his car to pick up Marcus, he took to long and Marcus fixed himself up byhimself. Charlie came back late and Marcus got real mad and started a arguement. Now their friendship was fading away.
